VLAD Mariana
Project partner responsible
MD, PhD, Senior Research, and from 2010 Head of Department of Environmental Health at the National Institute of Public Health, Regional Public Health Center in Cluj. Her career is focused on exploring the relation between alimentation and the health status of the populations. Her extensive professional experience has been materialized in the participation in 28 national and international research projects, of which 19 as project coordinator/national coordinator, publication of 47 peer-review paper and presentation of more than 150 scientific communications, membership in numerous professional associations and several nominations by the Romanian Ministry of Health, as expert at national and international level, in different collaborative and strategic initiatives. Coordinator of selected projects: Investigation of the risk of cyanide for gold leaching on health and environmental in Central Asia and Central Europe (2001–03); Comparative analysis of existing data on nutrition and lifestyle of the ageing population in Europe, especially in the “New” Baltic, Central and Eastern regions of the Community (2004–06); European Nutrition and Health Status Report 2009 – Programme of community action in the field of public health 2003–08 (2007–09); Research project and student training experience in public health education, drinking water and pesticide exposure evaluation, Transylvania, Romania, CIREH, Iowa, USA (2001).

Specialist medical doctor in Public Health and Management at the National Institute of Public Health – Regional Public Health Center Cluj, since 2016. He graduated University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu”, in 2010. Between 2011 –2015 he was Resident M.D. in Public Health and Management at the Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, Cluj-Napoca. In 2019 he gets PhD Degree in Medicine at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Iuliu Hațieganu”. He has Bachelor in Physical Education and Sport (BPhEd) at Babeș Bolyai University (2010). Since 02.2011 – to date he is researcher at Department of Public Health, Babeș-Bolyai University. He was awarded with two training fellowship (Fogarty Trainee – ICTIRT Programme; University of Iowa, College of Public Health, United States [01/09/2013 – 31/12/2013] and Fogarty Fellow – Research Ethics in The Balkans and the Black Sea Region at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City, United States [01/06/2015 – 01/06/2017]. He led four research project (www.repopa.eu, www.janpa.eu, www.diypes.eu) the last three having EU funding. Metrics: 11 publications; h-index 4.

Senior Psychologist, PhD in psychology. Her expertise is used for: Performing psychological measurements among students; Evaluation of the bullying aggression and proposing measures to reduce the phenomenon among young people; Participation in the elaboration of methodologies of the Public Health Programs; Supervision of the quality of psychological data obtained in the territory; Participation in the elaboration of the National Syntheses regarding the psychological field. Author of more than 10 scientific paper, 12 poster presentation, member of Romanian College of Psychologists.

MUNTEAN Nicoleta
Senior Researcher/ Chemist
Chemist, with 35 years’ experience in analysis of food and environmental matrix, with expertise in high performance liquid chromatography. She developed and optimized several methods of analysis for contaminants (PAH, heavy metals) and food additives (food colorants, preservatives, vitamins, carbohydrates) in food and environmental samples. Her studies include a B.Sc. in Inorganic Chemical Engineering (Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj Napoca), B.Sc. Technology of Food Products (University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine USAMV Cluj Napoca) and a PhD in Agronomy (USAMV, Cluj Napoca). Besides, she is experienced laboratory evaluation and quality control for laboratory accreditation according to SR EN ISO 17025/2018. She published more than 50 papers in scientific journals, having also numerous participations at national and international congresses with presentations and posters. Currently, she is also Quality Manager within the National Institute of Public Health – Regional Public Health Center Cluj Napoca.
